Diane Gould Pearly Queen of St Pancras and Guardian of Nature
Hello! I'm Caroline one of the OC.M weavers. In the summer I was lucky enough to be part of the OC.M team that travelled down to East Sussex to meet with Diane Gould. We discussed the history and traditions of London's Pearly Kings and Queens and how story telling is a huge part of their culture. One of my favourite discoveries was a wedding dress made from a World War Two parachute and wow was it beautiful, something made for love created out of something intended to escape war. I've since read the book about her dad's life - Alf Doyle - the first Pearly King of St Pancras, complete immersion transported back in time. You can read the interview and watch the video here -
