Become a member of OC.M

​OC.M is a collaborative space, democratically run by its members to serve its members' shared needs. We invite you to join us in cultivating and growing this community of communities. Together we are building a new fashion paradigm, aiming to replace the growth-based extractive Fashion industry with diverse, regenerative and vibrant community-led textile, clothing and fashion ecosystems.

Membership benefits

As an enterprise, we do not profit and extract from those who use our services.

All membership plans offer the same membership rights and benefits. We ask all our members to make some financial contribution to show commitment and willingness to participate in the community.

Participate in democratic processes 

  • Take part in collective decision making by attending quarterly members’ assemblies where we discuss the needs of this textile, clothing and fashion commons and how OC.M can serve them and our members

  • Vote on key decisions affecting OurCommon.Market

  • Participate in electing core members of our team

 

Become an OC.M Weaver: help steer, build and represent OC.M

  • Members can apply to become OC.M Weavers, who contribute their time to helping steer, build, represent and grow OC.M. Weavers can also be elected to the core team employed by OC.M.

 

Attend member events 

  • We host events for members to cultivate togetherness, learning and collaboration. Additionally, we organise six talks a year with experts in commons and alternative fashion, clothing and textiles. 

 

Receive guidance and training sessions 

  • For those who want to represent OC.M, its principles and values, OC.M holds regular training sessions and guidance on clothing and textiles cultures, commons organising and degrowth.

 

Become part of the OC.M members community 

  • We are a community that believes in generosity, reciprocity and interconnectedness. We encourage members to support one another, learn from each other and collaborate.

    If you have more to give, we ask that you supplement someone else’s shoestring membership on top of your own membership.

*We are keen for OC.M to be financially sustainable through memberships and donations. We want to keep membership costs inclusive but we know they currently won’t cover all overheads. That is why we encourage additional donations. In due course, membership fees may be adjusted to ensure they continue to reflect fair compensation of our team and to avoid excess accumulation of capital. As a not-for-profit, there will never be dividends from our revenue. Members are included in that decision making process.
