About the event
Indigo dyeing is an ancient dyeing method. China, Japan, India, Indonesia and Africa all have traditional indigo dyed textiles.
During this weekend indigo resist dyeing textile course, you will learn three different traditional resist dyeing method from China: stitch-resist dye 扎染, wax-resist dye 蜡染 and soy paste-resist dye 型糊染.
You will be able to learn all these traditional techniques in first day session and pick one that you enjoy most to create a bigger project on the 2nd day. You will also learn the history and cultural stories behind these crafts. You are welcome to bring your own project to dye and create during the session. YICRAFTS will provide some sample fabric, one square scarf and one t-shirt.
